Gallery: First Full day on the Big Island

This day was Sunday February 14. We had opted out of doing any excursions today. So we had breakfast and looked around the hotel. We then looked up if the hotel had a Sunday service and found that there was a little chapel on the grounds that held a non denominational service. We went and had a great time praising God and the minister had a great message. It was hard to concentrate though, due to the beauty of the surroundings and all the birds chirping in the tree just out side.

After words we decided to catch a trolley into Kailua-Kona. We had lunch at a place called Humpy’s Big Island Ail House, the patio had a great few of the bay. Charlotte had a Fish Taco, which was Mahi mahi, and I had a Hawaii Pizza, they were both great. We then headed back to the resort to meet up with one of the couples we had met, where we set around visiting.

It is Valentines and we did not make reservations at Ray’s on the Bay restaurant because we did not want to pay the outrages price for the meal. I know you are probably thinking I am a cheapskate but after Fifty years of Marriage we both know that we are each others sweethearts and we do not need to spend that much money to show our love for each other. We met up with the other couple who had been married for fifty years and went down to Mama’s Café Counter. Well they had stopped their regular menu and was only serving the high dollar meals. There was a little store located on the ground floor so we went in there. Charlotte bought a turkey sandwich and a pop, and I ate health for I picked up two candy bars and a pop. then we went up and set on our balcony had our dinner and visited with our new friends.
