Last year around this time we were in the midst of a severe drought. We are still in a drought but the good Lord has blessed us with some much needed rain. We have a lake about 50 miles from here and it had gone from 99 feet deep to around 33 feet because of the drought, Since the first of the year we have had over 5″ of rain and today we received almost 2 more inches. The weather men here said that Lake Meredith has risen about 5′, it is now at about 48 feet so all the little rains and this one has made a big dent in the drought. We also have two more smaller lakes that have risen about 9′.
My son and his family are getting ready to go camping this summer. The grand kids have been riding their bicycles just down the sidewalk on their block. They both have gotten brave enough to take their training wheels off. The second grader did first and then after the five year old saw his brother riding without them he decided he wanted too. My son said he came home from work and later on that morning when he went out to watch them ride he noticed that Noah was riding without the training wheels.
He asked him who took your training wheels off. Noah said I did, Why and how? well I saw brother riding without his and so I wanted to ride mine that way. Sure enough some how he used dads tools and took them off. Jeff went and got him a bicycle so that he can ride with them. He plans on taking them when they go camping. He wanted to teach them some bike etiquette so they went riding in the neighborhood and came by the house this morning and then over to the other grandparents to show them. We were out talking with them when Noah said lets rock and role and get this show on the road. He was wanting to ride not talk.
Even though we only live 50 miles away from my nieces and nephews we do not see them very often. This is my own fault for it seams we just do not make the effort to drive there. Any way to get to my point of this blog is we were invited to our Great nephews wedding. We thought that it was so nice of them to think about us and to extend the invention.
It was a beautiful wedding set outside with a hilly backdrop. For some reason I did not think about taking any pictures out there. But after the wedding, the reception was in building just next to the ceremony. They make such a beautiful couple and I wanted to share it. Again I would like to thank John and Kristen for inviting us to share there special day.
My son is a photographer here in Amarillo. And this is a short film shot for the 48 hour film project in Amarillo Texas. This is the “director’s cut” with some polishing of the original film submitted. In case you have not heard of the 48 hour project. Several groups only have 48 hours from the time they are told what the subject is going to be. They then have to write produce and film there story in a 48 hour time period.
I swear he did not get its talent from his dad, so it must be from mom. His full time job here is a driver fire fighter for the Amarillo Fire Department and he does his photographing on the side.
